OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
I just found out where I am heading to next year!!
COPENHAGEN!!!!
The Rotary Club of Copenhagen Soerne is my host club, in district 1470.
My counsellor sent me an email today. Her name is Susanne and she and her husband Steen are also one of my host families. They have two sons, Simon (24), and Sebastion (21), and one daughter Sabine who is 19 and going to my school. They live 10min train ride fro Copenhagen, and a 10min bike ride from my school.
I AM SO EXCITED!!!
I'll post again when I have new info :D

Hmm. Got my visa stuff a couple of weeks ago. Haven't really looked at it until now. But as would be expected, I have to send my passport in with my application and I won't get it back until I have my visa.
Why is this a problem you might ask? Well in Queensland, we have this thing called Schoolies, which is where the majority of Yr 12's from Southern Queensland - Northern NSW go to the Gold Coast for a week of partying. Doesn't really appeal to me, so I'm going to NZ with my mummy dearest to walk the Milford Track. YAY for me. But the problem is, I need my passport to go to NZ. I don't get back to Australia until Dec 1, so I can't send my passport in until then. Which means, my visa application can't start being processed until Dec 2 at the earliest. Add that to the fact that some visa's don't come through for 3 months....means that there is a great chance that I won't be able to leave on January 23 with the other Aussie outbounds because my visa won't be throught. ARGH so frustrating.
Anyways. Thats my grouse for the day. Have a good one.
Hey all
Well I finally have an update.
Last weekend was our first district orientation camp. It was a three day fandango and I must say, pretty much the best time ever because all the outbounds got to meet the inbounds and rebounds; sort of a bonding thing haha.
The rooms were in two, and since I'm going to Denmark, I got put in a room with Laura, an inbound from Denmark. First thing she said to me was "Hey I've got this awesome Danish dictionary for you!" Which was the coolest thing ever, because I have been looking everywhere for a Dansk-Engelsk dictionary but couldn't find one. So that was a good start for the weekend.
So all the outbounds had the packing talk, the airport talk, the security talk, all the basic general stuff. Then we split up into countries which was great. There is another guy going to Denmark with me, called Levi. So he and I were asking heaps of questions of Laura and the other Danish inbound Stig, and the two rebounders who also went to Denmark. So helpful, especially all the stuff the rebounders told us about money and school and everything you should know.
Saturday we had more discussion groups, then the outbounders got measured for their uniforms and got our photos taken for our business cards. Our photos are so much bigger than any other country! It was quite scary actually, the pressure for a good photo knowing that you're going to be handing these little cards out for an entire year. Anyways, fun times.
Saturday night, the Rotary Talent Quest. Or no-talent quest, as we fondly called it. As can be expected, none of the outbounders and inbounders wanted to get up there by themselves in front of a quite scary looking judging panel of rebounders. So a couple of us formed an interpretive dance group. With a very deep meaning, might I add. It was all about the Big Bang, and how pollution was ruining the earth. LOL it was the berst dance ever, I couldn't stop laughing. I'm now going to attempt to put a couple of photos in here of our dance...hope it works.
Mmm so it works. can't really see them that well but thats okay haha.
Anyways, Sunday was the day where our parents and club counsellors came. We did all the boring stuff like insurance and money. Boring...but I concede that it was important so I did force myself to listen. Anyways, then we did our interpretive dance again for the district governor (big wig in Rotary) because we won the talent quest...I really don't know how we managed that. Anyway, that was the orientation camp!
Upside: learning about life in Denmark, meeting so many new people, getting business cards, getting first pins!!
Downside: being woken up at 2am by rebounders teaching us a lesson for sleeping (grrrr), and waking up again at 6am for bushwalks (double grrrr).
Bye for now!
Bee.
Well. Hey to all! I'm Bridget, or Bee :)
I already sort of have a blog, at www.b2denmark.blogspot.com, but I'm a part of the Travelling Notebook 09-10 so I though I would make a vox so I can join the group on here.
But who knows? I might just start blogging on vox instead!
Thats all for now,
